Scientists and technicians from around the world are gathering in Prague from June 10-13 2019 for the FELASA conference, and PetMedix’s head of experimental animals will be there, giving real practical examples of how to reduce harm and improve animal welfare. FELASA, the Federation of Laboratory Animal Science Associations, “advocates the responsible scientific conduct with animals in the life sciences laying specific emphasis on ensuring animal welfare.”. They organise an annual conference at which members present and discuss ways to ensure high quality science whilst maintaining the commitment to replace, reduce, and refine the use of laboratory animals.
Animal welfare is at the heart of PetMedix’s mission, both in terms of the companion animals we hope to treat with our therapeutics, and also in any animals that are part of our development process. We are, therefore, proud to have one of our team presenting at this conference.
